Very busy getting packages ready for Customs. The ship arrived prompt noon and created a record from Marseilles to Bombay, averaging 20.7 knots an hour. A large crowd on the pier to welcome several Indian Maharajahs and other big guns who were aboard. The welcome is by hanging ropes of flowers round their necks, which are worn for a short time, the result was there were piles of flowers strewn about the decks which the stewards quickly threw overboard. To the Taj Mahal Hotel, dinner and then caught the train for Jalgaon at 11pm.
