Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea, but it is not processed in the same way. Instead of being cut or torn for oxidisation like black teas, green tea is simply dried and then cut. This helps it keep its colour and prevents it from fermenting and developing the bold flavour associated with black tea.
How to Store Green Tea
Here at Ringtons, we always recommend that you store your green tea in an airtight container in a cool place away from direct light and strong smells that could be absorbed into the leaves.
How To Drink Green Tea
For best results, steep your green tea in hot but not boiling water for two to three minutes to release its full flavour. Steeping for longer could make the tea bitter, and not steeping for long enough won’t allow you to get maximum taste. Green tea is perfect for drinking on its own, or add a twist of lemon, a kick of ginger, or a squeeze of honey for an added burst of flavour.
