It was about 8:30am when we passed Suez and entered the Red Sea. A fine day and not so hot as we expected. The coast line on both sides seems to be very rugged, should say mountainous. At about 2:15pm we passed Mount Sinai on our left – most people were interested and visibility was good. Deck game tournaments in full swing but Mac had to fall out owing to a gathered finger. Had tea with the Captain in his cabin and met Mr. Ralph Beckett, the Manager of the London Assurance Co. The Captain, Commander Sudell, was a good sport and a great man at conjuring tricks.
