Had a drive round Colombo residential, shopping and native quarters and like it. Still warm and sticky but better than previously. Heavy rain each afternoon and tonight a heavy thunderstorm. Went to Bosanquet and Skrine’s offices after lunch and whilst Mac was tasting teas with Siewert I was with Mr. Skrine in his office. Mr. Skrine has his permanent home in the hotel and we went to their rooms before dinner for a chat with him and his wife. Siewert and Mac go out to dinner somewhere. Bell and I dine alone. We attend the Ceylon Tea Sales tomorrow.
