Arrived at Ceil Hotel, Agra, in time for lunch. Rather a dusty and un-interesting ride but a nice hotel with a wonderful collection of Tibetan Brass and wood antiques. We saw here a fine exhibition of trained birds (native canaries) one even remained on a cannon after it had been fired with a very loud report. Went to see the Taj Mahal by moonlight and arrived just as the eclipse of the moon was taking place. very wonderful sight but conditions not good for taking photos. The manager of the hotel gave us an exhibition of card tricks and was very good.
