Beriff and I saw more of the city and its surroundings. To-night I entertained a few men and their wives to diver at the hotel – the only way I can show my appreciation of the kindness shown us by all we have met. The dinner was a success – the management did us well. Went to the Calcutta Swimming Club. 2 good baths – one under cover 33 1/3 yards ling and the other in the open air much longer. The club has a very large membership.
