Spent most of the day writing letters. Received Xmas cards from the scholars of St Saviour’s, Leeds, and many of our friends in England sent us greetings. Mac and I received an invitation to the Viceroy’s Garden Party, held that afternoon but although the envelope was marked “Urgent” it was not brought up to my room until it was too late for us to attend. We were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd at the Saturday Club for dinner. A large party. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was about 2a.m on Christmas morning when we got back to the Hotel.
